About

Nicole Dantes

Hola, I'm Nicole! A product and strategy person based in Madrid. I like taking unclear, tangled problems and turning them into products that actually make sense to the people using them. My work sits where business goals, technology, and human experience meet, and I care most about the human part. I recently finished my Master in Management at IE Business School, and before that I spent time in fintech at GCash, one of the Philippines' largest financial apps.

Beyond the resume

Most people see the medal. Almost no one sees what it costs.

For six years I represented the Philippines on the national karate team. Behind the wins were early morning runs, late night studies, injuries I trained through, and family gatherings I missed. I was a student by day and an athlete by night, and most days I showed up to both exhausted. In 2019 I was honored by the President of the Philippines with the Order of Lapu-Lapu, and I competed at the Southeast Asian Games. But the trophies were never the point. What the sport actually gave me was harder to put on a shelf.

It taught me to prepare obsessively and still stay calm when everything is on the line. To lose, learn, and come back sharper instead of smaller. To take blunt feedback from a coach and use it instead of taking it personally. To adapt fast when a fight, or a plan, does not go the way you trained for. And to trust that the people beside you, teammates and coaches, are part of every win that looks like it belongs to one person.

That is exactly how I work now. Disciplined about the craft. Steady under pressure. Quick to adapt. Coachable, always. The arena changed. The way I show up did not.

When I applied to IE, I made a short film about all of this, the wins, and everything underneath them. It is the most honest thing I have made about who I am. If you want to know me beyond the resume, it is here.
